Semper Solaris was founded in 2012 with a mission to help California homeowners escape the ever-rising costs of traditional energy companies. Co-founders Kelly Shawhan, a former United States Marine Corps Captain, and John Almond, a seasoned business leader with a decade of experience in construction, saw an opportunity to bring military values—honesty, integrity, and hard work—into the world of solar power. With their combined experience and passion, they set out to help homeowners declare their independence from energy companies by embracing the then-emerging technology of solar power.
Several years after launching, Semper Solaris expanded its services to include battery storage, roofing, and HVAC, knowing they could apply the same values to these verticals. Today, the company continues to offer comprehensive home improvement services while maintaining its strong connection to the veteran community. Through the Semper Cares initiative, Semper Solaris gives back by providing energy solutions to deserving veterans and hiring veterans whenever possible.
